  • Event Meeting

Event members, regular members and stakeholders are invited to an event subcommittee meeting at 11.00 am on Saturday, 11th October at the Hivesville Hotel beer garden.

This will be the first meeting of interested parties to begin planning the Yellowbelly Family Fishing Competition for 2026. Please direct any inquiries, suggestions and apologies to admin@boondoomastocking.org.

Look forward to seeing you there.

  • Camping

The South Burnett Regional Council has managed camping and recreational facilities at the dam since March 2001. There are self-contained cabins, powered and unpowered caravan sites, clean amenities blocks with nice hot showers, fish cleaning tables, day picnic areas, boat ramps and other facilities for visitors to use responsibly.

Visit the councils information page here.

Visit the dams facebook page here.

  • SIPS Permits

    SIPS Permits

What are they? Where do you get one? Why do you need one? How are funds used?

All those important questions are answered HERE on the Queensland Government page.

    Short answers?

If you are over 18, you must have a SIPS permit to fish on stocked impoundments.

You buy your permit online. They are no longer sold at the dam.

The money you pay for you permit helps associations like ours stock the dams with fingerlings to sustain a healthy fishery for your enjoyment.

  • SIPS 25 Fishing Competition

The  Freshwater Fishing and Stocking Association of Queensland is holding a statewide fishing competition over all the SIPS dams and weirs to celebrate 25 years of the Stocked Impoundment Permit Scheme.

It will run for the two weeks of the September school holidays. 20/9/25 – 6/10/25.

More information about how to enter and prizes is available on this DPI QLD page.

What an awesome excuse to get those bored kids out of the house and fishing at the dam over the holidays!

    Why can’t dinosaurs clap?

    Because they’re extinct…

While we may not be extinct, we can still be accused of being dinosaurs when it comes to embracing contemporary technology. This site is our attempt to get with the times and establish a valid, manageable web presence that helps us engage with younger generations and take advantage of new media delivery methods.

In time I envisage integrating online payments for nominations and merchandise in conjunction with the annual fishing competition. This will all take some time.

Please email admin@boondoomastocking.org with any suggestions, submissions or to point out my poor spellingk.
